Knightdale Youth Football Spring League
Middle School and High School
7 on 7 football has become the approved and encouraged activity in the off-season. The mission of Spring 7 on 7 football is to provide the structure for youth football players to develop their skills, competing in the off-season at organized local, regional and nationals events.
The National Youth Football Spring League (NYFSL) is a fun competitive, non-contact way to play football. It is all passing and allows scoring both on the offense and defense. Passing is now the feature offense, and thus defense, of most teams. Passing, receiving, and defending the pass take a great deal of practice to master. Participating in 7 on 7 Spring League offers athletes an exceptional, competitive way to hone their skills thus increasing the speed of play, and improving timing, fundamentals, and game knowledge. "There will be a noticeable difference during next years Fall teams try-outs with those who participate in the spring league and those that don't", says league organizer, Bob Winstead
Participation in the National Youth Football Spring League is available for athletes to sign up with their Fall teams (School, Pop-Warner, Youth Leagues, etc) or as an individual. In an effort to assist the athletes and the local teams, Carolina Elite Football, the organizers, will make every attempt to keep teammates together. The league will also run the formations, route trees, and defensive formations of their organized Fall league teams. Input and assistance from Fall coaches is accepted and encouraged as allowed by their governing bodies or schools.
Any enrolled student in the 6th-7th grades and 8th- 10th grades is eligible to participate in appropriate divisions. All student athletes need to check with their coach, league and state sport governing body to insure that high school and or college eligibility is not jeopardized by participating in any leagues or tournaments.
Teams consist of 15-20 players together with 1-3 adult coaches. All interested athletes can begin registering now. Tryouts will begin on March 15, 2014
